Ginuwine - Pony (dEbruit remix)

French dubstep eh, it sounds good in theory and in practice. dEbruit has already out an essential Radio 1 mix with Reso, keep an eye out for his tour dates.

Bukez Finezt - Ill Vibe (Kid Fisto Remix)

We're still warming up here, just dipping the toes into the filth so to speak. Kid Fisto from the US providing the remix, he's just landed a record deal with LA label Bell Ringer so we'll be keeping an eye on that camp.

Boys Noize - Kontact me (Siriusmo Remix)

I'm really not sure that I should be calling this dubstep with this pair being such huge players in the electro genre but you'll see where I'm picking up the dubstep scent from - this is mental but in a good way. Siriusmo has just dropped an LP on Modeselektor's label. I'm hoping it sounds like this.

Wretch 32 & Example - Unorthodox (Bar 9 Remix)


Bar 9 need no introduction, I love the way they use UK MC's in their tracks and this is no exception. This song is a serious health hazard though, I haven't got the balls to play this full volume yet, it's likely to show up on the richter scale.

Her Majesty & the wolves - glaciers (Roksonix remix)


The London duo Roksonix are becoming a big presence in my itunes library it must be said, so it's understandable that they're signed to the hallmark of quality which is Doctor P and Flux Pavilion's Circus Records - Edging on the commercial side with this one but it'll bring you back closer to reality after listening to the rest of this filth! :p Tree Boy xoxoxoxo

If you're a D 'n' B fan you'll want this one, sounds like a more easily understandable Ms. Dynamite-esque vocal / lyricist over a more commercial drum 'n' bass track but it's just what I'm fancy-ing this week! Enjoy it like I've done, on repeat all day, dancing like Ali G. Tree Boy xoxoxo 

Call me a product of my environment but it's hard to remember a time without a good Sunday session, it's one of the great Australian institution's and I think it's about time it got exported.

I've often thought, since watching Hot Fuzz, what my perfect Sunday would be. I think for a lot of you reading this, myself included, it'd involve some live music and a few cold ones, what the Australia a Sunday Session.

Up above you'll see one of my favourite Aussie Artists on my favourite Aussie radio show on my favourite Aussie radio station. There's s little bit of chat chit at the start but the track (which starts about 1min 50secs in) is worth waiting for! 

This week we've also found a cracking live performance from Local Natives, as performed for blogotheque. If you've been lucky enough to catch any material from these guys the last year you'll know they're showing untold promise. Indeed they've already opened up the likes of Glastonbury festival and with hair on your neck raising live performances like this we understand why. 

And it might not be live but I'm sure you won't mind, because it's that good, I felt a spot more Darren Hanlon would brighten up your Sunday. Truth is there's not a lot of Darren Hanlon footage available, but this song is such a beauty and I hope we'll all be seeing him live soon...

I can put up feature after feature for you but we're a close knit band of people and if I know any of you at all I know you want to hear what's doing the rounds for iknowasong.com at the minute. I might have some bad news for you though...

This week I've gone a bit weird, I'm in a transition. I'm getting all deep, stripping back to the bare essentials as it were, finding pleasure in the simple things, no frills music. These tracks have overtaken my headphones, I know they won't be everyone's (if anyone's) cup of tea but if you're a fan of the likes of massive attack, high contrast, hot chip, mount kimbie etc. then you may get on with at least one of these tracks... download + listen = enjoy.

Alunageorge - Analyser

Simple, effective, addictive. The Guardian liken these guys to Sweet Female attitude and other publications are calling alunageorge the future of pop. I could live with that - get more free MP3's from their website.

Aether - Orfeu Negro

Aether are my band of the hour, a Boston outfit remixing everyone from Lykke Li to James Brown. A sombre ed banger record feel to this.

Aether - makeshift sanctuary

This should be the American Beauty soundtrack. Massive attack fans will enjoy this lots.

Cassius - I <3 u so (Zdar's skreamix)

Zdar touching up Skream's old skool drum n bass take on the house hero cassius' new track. This is pure Moby to start off with then we get ravey. love it.

First Rate People - Funny Games

I haven't been lucky with the indie scene lately, not a lot of gems surfacing, but this track gives me hope that they are out there. This is more indie electronica but I think we can all appreciate the catchiness of these lyrics.

Gavintoo - Over the Rainbow (remix) 

Yes. As in Wizard of Oz. I don't know what you'd call this - 'classical house' maybe? This is the track I'm waking up to every day lately, as soon as those all to familiar piano keys drop you'll all be doing your Dorothy impressions I guarantee...

Clare Maguire - The Last Dance (Chase and Status Remix)

This is huge news, a chase and status track that isn't shit. In fact, it's the exact opposite. Maybe they've had enough of copying pendulum so now they're copying magnetic man instead. Clever work Chase & Status, no one will ever notice. Love you loads, mashed. Tree Boy xoxox

Kate Nash - Let's hear it for the boys (Deniece Williams Cover)

That's right, Kate Nash. Who would have guessed she's ever make it onto this blog? Certainly not me, but this shut me up. If you've ever seen Peter Kay's series 'Max and Paddy' you'll appreciate the revival of this classic even more! This is a guilty listen, I'd never let anyone over hear me thumping this one out at traffic lights but when I get it home, it's all about the 80's campness. Loving this one.

Plan B - Runaway (Kanye West Cover)

As soon as I heard this I thought, Vizzle wouldn't mind a bit of it! Both of these covers were recorded by Triple J Radio on their 'Like A Version' feature (much like the 'Live Lounge' but with a far better name). There's been some huge covers on there, if these are to your liking let me know by liking them back :) Then I will pull all the stops out and make sure you get this treatment on the regular.

Yeasayer - Crazy (Seal Cover)

As I've turned today's feature into a display of the finest covers I can find it's only right that this track gets a download. It's a beauty, it sounds like what I'd imagine Mumford & Sons to sound like when they're happy. Not that Yeasayer need an intro, and we all love Seal, fact.
